Spring Flowers

Posted Wednesday, May 9, 2007

It's a beautiful Spring day here in Minnesota ... and the lilacs, apple trees, and other beautiful bloosoms are reminding me why I love this time of the year so much. The scent of these blooms alone are a slice of heaven here on earth!

It's a reminder that even when life appears to be dull or over-taxing -and our ability to see the beauty that life is holding right underneathe the challenges that we are facing is blocked or limited -there is a new day coming and our gifts of bliss and joy are only hiding just under the surface...and ready to pop out to surprise us with a bright new sense of beauty and life! Life may not hand us bloosoms all year long, but we most certainly have surprises such as a thoughtful friend surprising you with a card or gift or a neighbor offering to help us carry our groceries...or maybe a store clerk being especially kind or thoughtful even when we weren't expecting it. Life is full of newness and beauty all year long and often takes us by surprise when it delivers us unexpected kindness or joy.

I generally like to be the bearer of such kindness myself...it gives me such joy to help others. It has even taken a bit of practice to be the receiver of such deeds. But, once I learned to receive, my appreciation for everything in life improved! Practicing new life tools is an important part of my life and here's another good one.

Fall gives us the gift of harvest...but Spring can actually represent the same. How? Just stop for a moment...breathe in the scent of those bloosoms and observe the bright pinks and purples as a sign that the Universe always delivers new beginnings. Year after year after year...never failing to keep it's promise of new life and better days. Now practice holding on to the gratitude and bliss that you feel as you feel the warmth of this amazing Spring day...snap a picture in your memory of the peace and harmony that you feel at this moment. (You are harvesting feelings of happiness and peace to draw on later...just like a savings account of happpy memories.)And then, when you need it the most...draw upon that memory and pull the sensation of this moment into your new (that future day) reality. Embrace this memory and thank the Universe for it's gift.

Here's wishing you a bright, fresh, and precious Spring-time day!

In love and light,
Lori
