Manifesting what we want.

Posted Wednesday, October 11, 2006

Hi Everyone,

I hope that this finds you having a wonderful fall! Our trees have peaked here in Minnesota and it’s been a gorgeous autumn. It's one of my very favorite seasons of the year here in the Midwest. However; winter seems to be wanting to pay us a visit a little early this year, as I awoke this morning to snow flurries! Although, fresh fallen snow can be beautiful, I've grown to appreciate the sunny weather in California so much that I am very excited to be heading back to the warm weather and sunshine in a little over a week. Better yet: This year, I'll have the pleasure of traveling back and forth between the two states and enjoy the best of both worlds.

DON'T LET THEM HOLD YOU BACK

Interestingly enough....Years ago, when in the middle of one of my most challenging times on the healing path, I decided to go ahead and do a manifestation exercise about living in Minnesota part of the year ...and somewhere warm in the winter months. And, much to my delight…today, I’ve been able to create (manifest) this reality in the here and now. If you want to learn more about manifesting positive change in your life, be sure to order a copy of my book today!

Now, while in the old victim mindset, I would never have dreamed that this reality was possible, and I had plenty of excuses that would back up that negative thinking. People immersed in the victim mindset are pros at making all kinds of excuses to keep themselves held back. And, often draw others into their world that would also prefer holding them back... as the old adage states "Misery Loves Company." Let me testify personally here, that once you dig in and start healing yourself, this all begins to change...and in an amazing speed at that! Although I may have a few nay sayers around in my life yet...a majority of my friends and loved ones are extremely supportive of my aspirations.

If you haven’t viewed the “Dear Sister Flash Movie” that I created, simply click on the View Flash Movie above (left of my picture) and take a few moments to be inspired. I created this video so that others would understand how much I truly understand, firsthand, the trauma of acute victimization and how they too, can begin to feel the hope, and inner peace, power, and amazing love that is available to them.

IMPORTANT AND VALUABLE INFORMATION

I attended the NOVA (National Organization for Victim’s Assistance) conference this past August and conducted a workshop. I had the pleasure of meeting some amazing people and gathered a whole lot of new information for my work with clients. It struck me that I should share with you in this Blog some important information on Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

If you, or a loved one, has been victimized by any type of violent crime, you probably have experienced some level of PTSD. To learn more about PSTD go to: http://www.sidran.org/trauma.html.

For someone that has suffered with this disorder, it is not uncommon to have moments when something …whether it’s a tone of someone’s voice; a particular geographic location that reminds us of the crime scene; even a song can trigger us to have a PTSD episode. During an episode; our bodies may tense up, we may startle easily, our heart may race, or a flash of anger (even rage) comes rising to the surface. Learning more about the psychological and physical effects of acute victimization will bring you an opportunity to accelerate your healing process. There is a whole lot of personal power through awareness! I highly recommend taking a little time to learn more about this disorder.

In this month’s newsletter, I share with subscribers an example of the opposite effect of PTSD and how creating positive triggers through repetitive learning has the polar opposite to PTSD. Be sure to sign up on the left hand side of this page, and learn more!
