A Victim No More: How to Break Free from Self-Judgement-Lori Rekowski newsletter
Here's some great clarity on "being willing"
I am Willing
In my book A Victim No More, I talk about a powerful and yet simple affirmation that states "I am willing." There can be moments when we are down on our knees in pain, or we have those times when we feel overwhelmed and frustrated about our healing process —and we simply feel as if there is no more gas in our engine to move forward. When this happens, I suggest simply stating to the Universe/God/Goddess/All that is (whatever you label your higher Source): I am willing.
Occasionally, I add to it in ways such as; "I am willing to learn what it takes to find inner peace. I am willing to take a break and let go and let the Universe take over."
Although honestly, sometimes that's even too much and I just throw my hands in the air and state firmly "I am willing." And, there's no doubt in my mind and heart that my higher self and/or the Universe knows what I mean.
Great stuff!
Recently, I was doing some healing work with a teacher that introduced me to a book titled "Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life" by Steven C. Hayes, PH.D. I had to chuckle when I heard the name of the book, because I had actually been considering titling the new book that I am working on "Out of your head and into your Heart." And, as I teach myself...I practice paying attention to synchronicity in my personal life and so I listened intently as she shared some of the techniques from this work.
I found that there is a goldmine of information in this book that builds on my own teaching and I'd like to share what this author suggests that "being willing" can be about, as it helped me greatly:
Willingness
Willingness is:
• Holding your pain as you would a delicate flower in your hand
• Embracing your pain as your would embrace a crying child
• Sitting with your pain the way you would sit with a person who has a serious illness
• Looking at your pain the way you would look at an incredible painting
• Walking with your pain the way you would walk while carrying a sobbing infant
• Honoring your pain the way you would honor a friend by listening
• Inhaling your pain the way you would take a deep breath
• Abandoning the war with pain like a soldier who puts down his weapons to walk home
• Getting with your pain like drinking a glass of pure water
• Carrying your pain the way you carry a picture in your wallet
Now, I personally believe that being clear about what we don’t want, is always a great starting point in figuring out exactly what it is that we do want to manifest. And so, I am sharing what the author listed as what willingness is not:
What willingness is not
Willingness is not:
• Wanting your pain
• Resisting your pain
• Ignoring your pain
• Forgetting your pain
• Buying your pain
• Doing what pain says
• Not doing what pain says
• Believing your pain
• Not believing your pain
These definitions sure helped me in being even more disciplined in practicing what I preach when I guided you in stating “I am willing…” in my own coursework. I hope that sharing this author’s definition has helped you today also.
And as always, I suggest that you remember to stay grateful for where you are no matter what! Gratitude is the fuel in the engine that keeps us moving forward!
Until next time, I offer you… blessings and peace,
Lori

A Valentine Gift
A very special gift for my newsletter readers
I forgot to include a little offer (no strings attached)in my newsletter. I have been enjoying giving quite a few guided inutitive readings lately, and felt moved in my meditation time, to offer 14 of my faithful readers a fifteen minute reading as a special gift from me to you for Valentines Day.
If you are interested, simply send your request to me at lori@avictimnomore.com ...and if you are one of the first 14 requests, I'll contact you back to set a time that works for us both in the coming month.
Be sure to put "Reading Gift Request" in the subject line of your email.

Happy Valentines Day
Happy Valentines Day
It’s fuel up time. The whole world seems to focus on love on every February 14th. Why not tap into that energy and take advantage of this gift. Love comes in many forms, and now more than ever, we need to be fueling up with —and working on self-love. The energy of LOVE not only fuels our soul, but offers us a sense of hope in challenging times. Most of us all know that the more self-love that we envelope ourselves in —and fill up with—the more that we have to give others!
When we are able to give love to others, we are being of service, for the highest good of all. And, that action produces a "feel good, pick-me-up" feeling. There are many, many other rewards bestowed upon us when we share our gifts and love with others! So fill up and share true, never-ending, and terrifically fulfilling LOVE on this happy occasion.
Now, step out of the romantic connotation of the Valentines Holiday for a moment... and look at this energy also as an opportunity to be a special "love bringer" to this planet. We only get disappointed when we feel we aren't getting expectations met...and so instead of expecting so much OUT OF THE HOLIDAY...focus on what YOU CAN GIVE to someone else! It really is rewarding, you’ll see.
Feeding Your Soul once again
Learning is finding out what you already know.
Doing is demonstrating that you already know it.
Teaching is reminding others
that they know just as well as you.
You are all learners, doers, teachers.
--Richard Bach
In A Victim No More, I teach the importance of feeding the soul. And, one of the ways that I feed my soul is reading books that have messages that encourage me to focus on self-love. And, one of the ways that I express self-love to my self is 1.) By attracting positive energies into my life and 2.) By keeping a joyful and abundant mindset.
When I read materials from other light workers that are here to serve others, I absorb the love and peace that they are offering through their "reminders" in the form of words and hands-on exercises.
Simple and Quick Exercises
In my online course, I speak about the Spiral of Life. I have my students jot down any successes that they have had in their lives, on a moving spiral which appears on the screen. Many students are absolutely surprised at how quick they can fill the spiral up when they include the little successes as I recommend that they do by giving examples! Remember, everything counts.
*Important note: Yes, life is like a spiral. You will pass through every stage over and over again, experiencing life from a higher and higher perspective. Just because you are dealing with the same or similar challenge...doesn't mean that you haven't "gotten the lesson." It simply means that you are working on being a master of that particular lesson or challenge. Each time that you pass through the scene or scenario…you have the opportunity to take what you’ve learned and glide through in a more effortless manner. And, possibly in time, the lesson made fade away all together. (Let’s keep up that hope, when it’s the tougher more tedious challenges.)
And so, next time you find yourself in familiar territory with a challenge that you'd like to be done with, don't judge it negatively...simply thank it for all the gifts that it has to offer and work on uncovering that gift. Remember, once you’ve healed an issue, you never go back to where you were before!
Fear is generally the culprit of unease and unhappiness in these situations. One way to release your fear is to look at the situation and ask yourself: "What is the worst thing that can happen to me in this situation?" Write it down. Next, take each answer and again ask "What's the worst thing that can happen?" Keep going…As Sanaya Roman said about applying this exercise in her book "Creating Money"..."Eventually you'll come to your deepest fear. As you recognize it you can release it." And, we all know that there is a whole lot of personal power in awareness! Which, by the way, is another title to Sanaya's books: Personal Power Through Awareness. You can check out her work at www.orindaben.com.
Until next time…
I'd like to end with another suggestion: Keep love (and hope) alive and focus on positive news. Turn off all of that negative media news from your life, even if for only a few days, and you will see a huge shift in your energy. It’ll begin to get lighter and brighter. Remember, "garbage in, garbage out." Choose to take a few days off from all of the misery that the news is projecting out at you and believe me, you will feel your energy rising to new and pleasant heights!
It doesn't have to cost you anything either. You see, you can take the time instead, to listen to an inspiring piece of music, look up some great art on the internet, sign up for a free mini course, or immerse yourself in a book that you already have on your shelf, or one borrowed from a friend. Or, simply go out for a walk or a short meditation break. Enjoy, and breathe in the beautiful energy of love on your in breath and breathe it out ….blissfully into the world. You'll be adding love and light to this planet. And, it's needed now more than ever, my friend!
Blessings and peace,
Lori Rekowski

Happy Thanksgiving from Lori Rekowski
There are Always Opportunities in Times of Change
“Man’s mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains it’s original dimensions.”
-Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr.-
There isn't a person on this planet right now that isn't faced with some sort of a challenge in their life. Be it monetarily, physically, mentally and/or spiritually. And, if they don't feel challenged personally—and are even at the most basic level—aware or tuned in to the needs of humanity: they know someone else that is.
I rarely watch the news (although I occasionally peak at the headlines when I am on the Internet) and I am frankly very aware that there are many struggling financially with the world's economy in the state that it is. (Now that I truly love myself, I have naturally tapped into the Source of that love and sense other's wellbeing, by nature.) The financial struggles occuring on this planet inevitably affects every other area of our lives...from health and strains on relationships...to many other facets of life. After all, the energy of money offers freedom —and when that energy is cut off or reduced… so is the freedom that accompanies it.

A long time in coming...

Greetings! Yes, I am still alive and well.
I hope that this finds each of you having a nice summer. I'd like to apologize to each of you for being away from writing my monthly newsletter as I had promised I would. Sometimes, life has little side trips that it takes you on — and I most definitely experienced a side trip that was filled with challenges and in turn, blessings. Of course, true to my calling, the challenges produced wondrous gifts and produced leaps and bounds in my evolutionary/enlightenment process. Anyone that begins the process of awakening finds bumps in the road and tests of the spirit to overcome, however; energy is energy and I'd rather be spending it on healing and evolving than living in the thick of victimhood --That I know for certain!

Spring 2008 Newsletter
An Apology and more...
I must apologize for having been "off-line" with my newsletter for so long. Life has been crazy this past year! No worries, it's all good! I am excited to share from personal experience, that no matter the chaos that is going on around us, there is a a wonderful place of reprieve and peacefulness that we can go to and that is within . I teach that it is important to stop often and breathe in peace and love(and your amazing Divinity) and then breathe it back out nice and slow, with the intention of offering that peace and love back out into the world. This simple little exercise is a powerful one that we all can use at anytime, anywhere, and any place.
